Constructing a Telescope Purpose; To find out have a refracting telescope works. Materials:

Meterstick

2 lens holders

2 convex lenses or magnifying glasses of different sizes unlined index car (to be used as a screen)

card holder

Observations

1. The focal length from the card of the first lens was 10 cm, and the focal length from the second card was 4 Yz cm.

2. The one with the shorter focal length makes things bigger and the one with the longer focal length makes things smaller.

3. The image seen through the lens with the longer focal length makes the object smaller and upside down.

Analysis and Conclusion

1. The power of the telescope is 10/4.5 which is equal to 2.2.

2. The shorter the distance between lenses the less the Image is magnified the image is, the greater the distance between the two images the greater the image is magnified.
